My Fav Small Businesses for your Christmas Shopping!

December 5, 2018 By Molly Leave a Comment

There are gift guides all over the internet this time of year, with suggestions for everything from “the hipster who has everything” to “the pet lover who also enjoys bourbon.” 😉

It’s no secret that I’m a huge advocate for our local community and businesses. As such, I’m sharing my favorite local small businesses (and one from out of the area that I just had to include). I hope you’ll consider spending some of your holiday shopping dollars at these businesses this season!

Frill Seekers Gifts

frill seekers cups

Frill Seekers is my go-to gift shop for monogrammed goodies and adorable, unique gifts. The perfect kind of place for teacher and hostess gifts! These shatter-proof cups were gifted to us from Frill Seekers and they remain my favorite- I’ve reordered them several times!

Ella Grace Boutique

ella grace

This online boutique happens to be owned by one of my dear friends (it’s named after her two daughters). Heather has a great eye for stylish, yet affordable clothes and accessories at great price points. Buy something for your mom and girlfriends, buy a few things for yourself. :) PS that’s another fabulous friend, Sasha, modeling a sweater from Ella Grace.

Noteworthy Paper Place

notweorthy luggage tags

Oh man, I’m such a sucker for stationary and paper goods. My sorority sister (and therefor fellow Gator lover), Kristen designs the cutest notepads, calendars, luggage tags, swizzle sticks, and more. The luggage tags would make awesome stocking stuffers!

Kiki Risa

kiki risa

Kiki Risa is a high-end boutique in Destin. Marisa is constantly seeking out the highest quality designer clothing and accessories for her loyal clients and the landscape of the store is ever-changing. They are super fun to follow on Instagram (daily fashion shows)! Stop in for a killer Christmas party ensemble!

Fisher’s Pharmacy

fishers crackers

Fisher’s is an old-fashioned pharmacy with the sweetest gift shop up front. It’s owned and run by old family friends and Katelyn (who is also a pharmacist at Fisher’s) does a great job stocking adorable gifts for babies, kids, brides, and anyone in between. I love going up to Defuniak Springs for lunch at H&M Hotdogs then slowly browsing all the wares at Fisher’s (there is always a great selection of Scout bags). They carry this incredible Savory cracker seasoning mix that always finds its way into my shopping bag!.

Pink N Blue Avenue

pink n blue

This is hands-down the best children’s boutique in the area! Gulia always has an amazing selection of clothing, accessories, and incredible toys from all over (my kids could spend hours browsing the toys and games). Grandmas love this place, so send them there to spoil your kiddos this season! And her selection of kids’ shoes is the absolute best.

The Cookie Jar- Gourmet Cookies by Noelle

cookies

Oh dear me, the cutest cookies I ever did see! Seriously- how fabulous are these Floridian Christmas cookies? Noelle designs the sweetest confections and she can do custom orders for birthdays, holidays, gifts, and more. She’s based out of Navarre but has meetup points.

I could mention so many more amazing local small businesses! I hope you will seriously consider shopping small this holiday season and all throughout the coming year.

Shopping with Today’s Boutique + Giveaway!

July 20, 2018 By Molly Leave a Comment

I had the absolute BEST time on my recent shopping trip at Today’s Boutique!

todays exterior

Today’s is a women’s clothing boutique and is located in the Paradise Key Shopping Center in Destin, near Publix, Bonefish Grill, and Steinmart. Today’s has been around all of my life. In fact, the store is celebrating its 37th year of business in Destin this weekend!

local girl top

The boutique is owned by Jim and Kim Dettle and their fabulous daughter, Kristin. They really do a great job stocking the boutique with upscale, yet affordable, styles for ladies of all ages.

ruffle black top todays

How incredible is this top?! I felt like a queen. It would be perfect with dressier pants for a holiday party or charity event. It’s also stunning dressed down with jeans for date night.

black dress todays

This open-shoulder dress was beyond comfortable. I’m a busy mom of three, so this is perfect for my every day errand-running and kid-chauffeuring. :)

bra off top

But let’s be real- this super comfy tee really speaks my truth. 😉

Today’s has a huge selection of amazing accessories, as well. They just so happen to carry my favorite-ever brand of sunglasses. Quay is an Australian brand and they are known for their fun, reflective lenses. The best part- they are so affordable!

todays quay

These earrings definitely found their way into my shopping bag. I live for statement earrings and the selection at Today’s is through the roof! I could have easily come home with 10 more pairs of earrings. :)

As I mentioned, this weekend marks Today’s 37th year in business and they are celebrating with a big, two-day birthday party! During July 20th and 21st, select items will be 37% off and there will be champagne, cake, and the chance to win prizes while you shop. You can find out more info about the big birthday bash HERE.

Also in celebration of Today’s 37th birthday, I’m giving away a $100 Today’s gift card to one lucky reader! Follow the Rafflecopter prompts below and Happy Shopping!

Finding the Perfect Shades with Sunglass World

April 17, 2018 By Molly Leave a Comment

Living in the Sunshine State, protecting my eyes from the sun is top priority for me. I’ve been religiously wearing sunglasses as long as I can remember. You can’t be out in the Florida sun very long before you reach for a pair!

costas4

In the past I’ve just grabbed an inexpensive pair from Target or Walmart (I’m bad about losing them or throwing them in my purse where they get ruined), but we are about to live on the water, so I knew I needed to get serious about proper eye wear.

costas3

My friends at Sunglass World in Destin listened to my concerns and wants and helped me select the perfect pair of polarized sunglasses.

The winner???

costas5

These gorgeous polarized Costa Aransas in Shiny Ocean Tort. I’m in love!

I just adore the large acetate lenses and the hint of blue and green in the classic square frames. I’ve come to realize that my face needs big frames. :)

So what’s the deal with polarized sunglasses anyway? Polarized glass eliminates glare and helps reduce eye fatigue, stress on the eyes, and headaches from squinting. It’s certainly great around the water (for fishing and boating), but it’s great for every day driving, too. Ever stared into oncoming traffic only to be blinded by the glare from cars? Polarized glasses will help! Try on a pair and you will definitely notice a difference.

I wore my new Costas all over Key West- fishing, by the pool, riding bikes, and even just lounging on the beach. They are super light-weight and comfy and made the bright tropical colors pop without straining my eyes.

costas2

If you are local to Destin or will be visiting the area, check out Sunglass World in Destin Commons. They have a huge selection of Costas, Maui Jim’s and more and the staff is friendly and knowledgeable. They even let you try on sunglasses outside so you can truly see the difference between lens colors. And of course they’ll happily adjust your frames to get the perfect fit.

Be sure to head over to my Instagram right now- I’m giving away a $200 credit to Sunglass World!!!

**This post was sponsored by Sunglass World but all opinions and images are my own.**
