We just returned from four exciting (and exhausting) days at Walt Disney World!
This was our first time going to Disney as a family of five, so we opted to book a 2 bedroom/ 2 bathroom condo at Wyndham Bonnet Creek (we actually booked our condo through AirBNB). We’d only stayed on property up to this point, so I wasn’t sure what to expect.
Let’s just say the Wyndham Bonnet Creek exceeded our expectations in every way! Probably the best thing about the resort is that it’s located WITHIN Disney gates. We drove to each and every park we wanted to within 10 minutes. Bonnet Creek is nothing, if not convenient.
So let’s talk about our condo.
Upon entering, you immediately see the kitchen and dining area. The kitchen wasn’t huge, but with a dishwasher, sink (with food disposal!), oven, full fridge/freezer, toaster, blender, and microwave, it certainly had everything we needed.
The kitchen opens up to the living room. We were on the first floor (per my request- it’s so much easier with strollers!) and we had a nice balcony overlooking the pool.
The big kids stayed in a bedroom with two full beds.
Just outside of their bedroom was a full bathroom and next to that was our washer/dryer. It was so nice to be able to do a couple loads of laundry during our stay.
The master was comfortable and also overlooked the pool.
There was a big jet tub in the bedroom area and then a separate bathroom with a shower, sink, and toilet (we set up Miles’s pack ‘n play in there!).
Our condo really felt like our home away from home while at Disney. With five people, we certainly appreciated having extra space to spread out, stretch our legs, and not be on top of each other.
Our condo was just the beginning. The resort boasts lagoon-style zero entry pools with slides, hot tubs, two lazy rivers, and kids’ splash pad areas.
Just walking around the resort was a treat. We were in Tower 5, which was conveniently located by one of the lazy rivers and Escudos, the restaurant/bar.
The big kids and I enjoyed a beverage at Escudos when we first arrived. We had a blast walking around the resort and scoping out the scene.
The whole place has an old Spanish fort vibe.
The food at Escudos was excellent and affordable! We were all wiped by the last night and opted to eat there and it was probably our best meal of the trip.
How gorgeous are these empanadas??!
Julia and I split the fish tacos and she raved about them. I was partial to the White Sangria and may or may not have ordered one every day we were there.
I really can’t say enough great things about Wyndham Bonnet Creek. It’s a huge property with a golf course, spa, exercise facilities, convenience store (serving Starbucks and selling necessities like milk for Miles!), and separate hotels (Wndham has a hotel on property and there is also a Hilton).
The icing on the cake was the price. Our four nights at a 2BR condo was a fraction of the price we would have paid for just one hotel room at a Disney hotel. I’ve enjoyed our experiences at Disney properties, but the extra space at Bonnet Creek, and the savings, made us believers!
I believe the resort offers shuttle or bus service to Disney, but we drove our own car every day so I can’t speak for the convenience of the shuttle. We are annual pass holders which allows us to park for free at the parks.
When you travel to Disney do you stay on or off property? What has been your experience?
