Hole in ONE 1st Birthday Party Inspiration

February 13, 2017 By Molly Leave a Comment

Why does time seem to fly faster and faster with each kid? Somehow, my little Smiley Miley is quickly closing in on a whole entire YEAR old! I swear he was born 5 minutes ago. I can honestly say it’s been the fastest and slowest year of my life. 😉

I decided on a golf theme for Miles’s first birthday not long after he was born. I don’t know much about golf, but always grew up watching tournaments with my dad. There’s just something nostalgic about the low hum of golf on the TV on a sunny spring Sunday afternoon.

It just so happens that The Masters is the weekend before Miles’s birthday. Perfect!

Some quick Pinterst research lead me to all sorts of creative ideas for a Hole in ONE First Birthday Par-TEE. I have so many amazingly creative and talented friends who area already on board and helping to bring my vision to life.

The party colors will be apple green and sky blue with pops of yellow and orange. My dear friend Page created the exact invitation that I envisioned. It’s the perfect springboard for the rest of the details!

The plan is to have pimento cheese and chicken salad finger sandwiches with other sweet and salty snacks. How cute are these grapes skewers with golf tees?

And my amazingly talented cookie-baking friend Holly will be whipping up some magic for us to use as party favors. She made cookie favors for Mac’s “Big Mac” themed first birthday and they were adorable.

And how fun are these giant inflatable golf balls??

I’m praying for a gorgeous spring day, as we are planning on having the party in the back yard. I picked up some toy golf sets from HomeGoods and the kids can have fun kicking and hitting these balls around with tiny clubs.

I’ll order a few dozen cupcakes from my favorite gourmet bakery (Publix 😉 ) and ask them to make the green icing look like grass. I picked up some cute flag picks at Hobby Lobby to go on top. And of course we’ll need a smash cake for the birthday boy!

I’ve loved planning my kids’ first birthday parties and it’s no different the third time around. We can’t wait to celebrate our big boy. I know April will be here before we know it!
