Halloween has come and gone and the holidays will be here before we know it. Thanksgiving is only 3 Thursdays away!
November is usually a beautiful month on the Emerald Coast and I’m sharing some can’t-miss activities to help you fill up your calendar (as if any of us have empty calendars this time of year).
17th Annual Pinfish Classic
The City of Destin will host this kids’ only fishing tournament on Saturday, November 7th from 8:30 to 10:00 on Destin Harbor behind AJ’s. The event is free and open to kids ages 14 and under. Each child must provide their own pole and bait will be provided. Awards will be given for largest and smallest pinfish and most pinfish caught. For more info call 850-650-1241.
Baytowne on Ice
Who says you can’t ice skate on the beach? The ice skating rink at Baytowne Wharf is the perfect way to get into the holiday spirit and has become a local seasonal favorite. The rink will be open November 1 through January 31. Skate rentals are only $2 and $11 will get you 90 minutes of skating. The first hour of each day is reserved for “kids skate” for youths 12 and under. Click HERE for more info and daily rink operating hours.
Gulfarium FREE Kids Weekend
The Gulfarium is one of our very favorite places to spend a morning and they are hosting a FREE weekend for the kids November 14th and 15th! Free admission is limited to 2 kids per adult and can’t be combined with other coupons or offers. In addition to the incredible sea life on display, there will be crafts and a bounce house for the kiddos. Regular admission rates apply for adults.
Santa’s Arrival at Destin Commons
Santa makes his big debut at Destin Commons on Friday, November 20th at 6:00 pm. We loved this event last year, though Mac was unsure of Rudolph. There will be character photos, a holiday parade, and Santa himself will light the incredible 50′ Christmas tree that crowns the center of Destin Commons. The celebration is capped off with a fireworks display!
Black Friday Special on Big Kahuna’s Season Passes!
In my humble opinion, the BEST deal on Black Friday is when Big Kahuna’s season passes are 50% off! Even at full price (79.99 for Platinum) season passes are absolutely worth it. I bought two Platinum passes on Black Friday last year and we used them all summer long. Each Platinum pass comes with two guest passes, a combo meal voucher, and free parking all season long. This pass absolutely pays for itself in two visits to Big Kahuna’s. Make yourself a note to buy yours this year (Black Friday is November 27th)!
Nutcracker in Seaside
This beloved Christmas classic ballet comes to the Seaside Amphitheater November 21st at 5:00 pm. The performance features dancers from Ballet Pensacola.
So there you have just a small glimpse of the many exciting family-friendly events going on around here in the month of November. I feel like this month is flying and it only just started!
Please let me know if you have a special event in the area to share.
